A vegetal oil freighter ran aground at the Lobos Island, near the Uruguayan city of Punta del Este. As reported by Infobae on 18 May 2016, the Uruguayan navy dispatched vessels to prevent an oil spill. As confirmed by local news media, the freighter was transporting around 30,000 cubic meters of natural vegetable oil, however, local authorities have not confirmed if part of it has been spilled or not. Moreover, Navy speaker Gast・n Jaunsolo confirmed the transported material is indeed biodegradable, posing no risk for environment.」
小澤様、いつも貴重な現地情報をありがとうございます_(._.)_!!今回の事故は、５月18日に発生したのですね!!記事によれば、座礁したのはウルグアイ海軍関連の船舶のようですから、なかなか詳しい情報は流れてこないのではないか？…と懸念しております。
もし、３万トンもの燃料用Ｂ重油が流出すれば、付近の海岸に住む人々の生活はもちろん、そこに生息する様々な野生動植物への深刻な影響が心配されますね!!各種国際救護団体も既に動いているようですが…、今後の展開に注目し、マゼランペンギンや海獣類への被害状況についても注意していきたいと思います。
